Dominoes Pizza Take Away

Due to the salivating nature of this particular entry, it will be real short - tak tahannnnnnn....

And YES, I don't really take care of myself. Dominoes Pizza - my favourite thin crust of course... Lain-lain thin crust at other pizza outlets are not thin at all - sama la mcm I... kurus-kurus gebu gituuuu... Muahahahaha gelak sorang-sorang.

The New Meat Mania - Pun Sodap!

So on 26 March 2008 when both of us were undecided on what to stuff ourselves with that night, Dominoes Pizza's new menu line up came to the rescue. Using KN's Take Away Only, buy 1 large free 1 large pizza card, we found a reasonable reason to put on the extra weight and risk a hike in my blood sugar. Period.

Dominoes indeed makes real tasty pizza!

p/s Err. I just realized after checking their site on the Internet that "Dominoes" is actually spelled as "Domino's"... err...

Nasi Beriyani @ Bismillah Restaurant

I can remember going to this restaurant way back in the 80s. Papa 's office was nearby, at Mindef, while I went to a school about a kilometer away. Since one of mummy's favourite food was nasi beriyani, Restoran Bismillah, one of the best availble serving Beriyani in KL then was a favourite besides another restaurant pposite Pertama Complex in KL City, I can't really recall the name but it was near Shiraz Hotel and Restaurant - I wonder if these two places, the beriyani restaurant and Shiraz are still there near Tunku Abdul Rahman Road.

the Fried Chicken Beriyani @ Bismillah Restaurant, Jalan Semarak

On 12th March 2008 I suddenly craved for Bismillah's chicken briyani and we went there. It is situated along Jalan Semarak, opposite the University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) city campus and just beside the Telekom Malaysia College. Well, I can't say how delicious the beriyani was in the 80s but what I could remember was, it was a place where my family frequent - then it must've been good.

if the chicken is cooked with the rice like the one at the restaurant near Shiraz but it's not how they cook it here). I am pretty sure it was how theyWe had the Fried Chicken briyani. (I honestly like cooked beriyani at this restaurant back in the 80s, otherwise mummy wouldn't have liked it too.

After about three decades, the beriyani here still tastes good - not really that good that I would keep coming back for more but good as in edible and no complaints. What I like was the dhalcha - it was more like kurma really. It tasted good and go well with the rice. We also ordered a piece of beef murtabak to go for our breakfast the next morning.

Overall, for the nearly RM30 spent I would rate the beriyani here a B+ and the beef murtabak a mere B (the murtabak at Pasar Malam Melawati tastes better and much cheaper too, really)

Nasi Daun Pisang @ Batu Caves

Nasi Daun Pisang @ Banana Leaf Rice with Sambal Chicken, Fried Chilli Padi, 3 Types of Veges and Pappadom - Yummy!

Indian food has been my personal favourite for long - all thanks to mummy's influence. I started eating nasi daun pisang or banana leaf rice and fell in love with it when I was studying at the university. I was driving ,so I could easily go anywhere I wanted. So Serdang was the place of choice where my buddies and I frequent for their delicious banana leaf rice - Maulana Restaurant. Went back to the place a couple of years back but unfortunately the place no longer exist. So I ended up eating at one of the Indian restaurants nearby Serdang's 7 Eleven Store.

Another good place for banana leaf rice is Kanna Curry House in PJ. Introduced by a fellow colleague at ICT, Sri Ganesh, that is so far the best place serving banana leaf rice. I will write about it later when I visit the place - hopefully soon.

I would be able to enjoy banana leaf rice everyday if I have to. I just love the vegetable combination and lots of curry; chicken, dhalcha and fish curry all mixed and poured on the rice. I love the fried chilli padi as well as the crispy pappadom. A must when I eat banana leaf rice is the sambal chicken.

On 10th March 2008 KN and I went to the Batu Caves Tabung Haji branch. There was a restaurant nearby on the same row as Hong Leong Bank serving banana leaf rice. I can't recall the name though but that was the only Indian restaurant there.

Service wise, they're really good, very personalised and very pleasant staff. Food wise, I would say a definite excellent (well, because I've never really tasted banana rice that isn't good) - just loved it. KN said Kanna's is a lot better, I just couldn't differentiate. The only difference is that at Kanna's if you order fried chicken it will be fried fresh. I would give the food here an excellent A and would come back for more, anytime!

p/s the Naan here looks good too - perhaps some other time. :-)

Ronda-ronda Kuala Lumpur

March 7, 2008 was a busy and hectic day for the of us. KN took the day off to take Ayah to the hospital for his appointment and I went to work as usual but planned to take half day to register for Umrah at Andalusia.

KN went back to Shah Alam the night before to pick Ayah and Mak. They arrived at BA approximately half past seven and we headed to the only mamak restaurant here for breakfast. Ahahaha guess what, the first thing Mak told me when I entered the car was - "Eh S*** Ikea ada Sale tau" and we both laughed . I saw KN looking back through the rear view mirror - alamak macam citer Jangan Pandang Belakang pulak as a komplot to go Ikea was on its way!

So there we were, berjaya jugak convince KN and Ayah to go to Ikea ahahaha. I actually got scolded by the Bangla guard at Ikea for taking a photo of their Ikea Sale Bunting - cheh! Well, Mak didn't buy much but me, as usual lah - I had a list of things already up in the head the momnet mak mentioned "Ikea" and "Sale!" and there goes three hundred ringgit well spent We had lunch at Ikea, of course, their delicious meat balls and cranberries sauce and some dessert. Mak and Ayah shared their meat balls on a single dinner plate - how romantic, I wish my own parents were like that - how lucky KN is.

My Plate of 15 Pieces Meat Balls with lots of Chilli Sauce and Mustard - hehehe!

After Ikea we went to Ikano to get a hammer drill (one f the things need to install those things I bought at Ikea today and some other things I bought nearly a year ago but not yet hung on the wall) - there, I kissed RM400 good bye - well, lucky Ayah is familiar with tools and he recommended a really good hammer drill for me.

We then sent Mak and Ayah home and it was raining cats and dogs but the initial plan was to registed for Umrah at Andalusia in Taman Maluri. Lucky enough we managed to get there before their business hours end that day and Alhamdulillah we'll be going on August 25th this year. We were given 2 bags each, a book and free classes on Sundays 9am to 1pm. We decided to start attending the classes later in May. What we still need to do for this trip are the immunization injection and photos for the visa application.

Since KN just bought a DSLR, the only thing that interests KN nowadays are camera stuff and camera shops. So we then headed to Pertama Complex as I have promised KN a flash for my darling's coming 31st Birthday. We parked at Sogo Shopping Complex and had dinner there - My favourite Extra Hot Peri-peri Chicken at Nandos. KN had a Peri-peri Beef dish served with rice. This was actually the first time we dined at Nandos Sogo - the service was terrible as the waiters were busy chit chatting with each other at the counter and we had a hard time trying to get them to refill our drinks - Nandos Alpha Angle Wangsa Maju's service was so much better and friendlier.

Extra Hot 1/4 Peri-peri Chicken with Rice and Coleslaw for me and Mild Beef Peri-peri with rice for KN

Before heading home we bought Lecka-lecka's ice cream - a mixture of three flavour but the best was the Red/pink-coloured Lecka Special (tasted liek watermelon) and a bag of Famous Amos cookie - yummy, and I have only myself to blame if my blood sugar reading is high tomorrow... padan muka!
The 3 Flavored Lecka-lecka Ice Cream topped with Cookie Crumbs

InsyaAllah...

Alhamdulillah both KN and I have registered for Umrah this coming August 2008 with Andalusia Travel n Tours . InsyaAllah the date of departure would be August 10th and we'll be back on August 25th. To anyone reading this, do pray for our well being. Do pray for a positive change when we return. Thank you. very much.

Alhamdulillah, thank God for the endless shower of barkah from Allah that we'll be able to go there together. InsyaAllah.
