Kanna Curry House @ Kepong Once More lah!
Kanna Curry House should seriously consider making me their maskot, official representative, ambassador or whatsoever ehehehehe.
Ayam Sambal and Pappadam with Lots of Curry on the RiceWe were at Ikano buying cat supplies and presto the car drove itself to Kepong for another Nasi Daun Pisang treat - at Kanna lah, where else! Again, after twice coming to this branch of Kanna we still prefer the service and food at the PJ outlet.
Getting Ready for a Hearty (Helathy?) MealThe service there is more efficient, friendly and they surely try hard to impress thier customers. That is somehow different at the Kepong Branch especially when you choose to sit outside for some cozy air while enjoying your banan leaf rice. The waiters had to be called several times, otherwise they would be busy talking with each other in the restaurant.
I Don't Mind Turning Vegetarian if Its Banana Leaf Rice Everyday!The taste too I think is diffferent compared to their PJ outlet. I prefer the one at PJ (perhaps I always come on the wrong day when the cook isn't in the mood kot?) but whatever it is, I just love and will always love banana leaf rice - of course with lots of curry on the rice!
Kanna Curry House Kepong Pulak...
We have been wanting to try the Nasi Daun Pisang @ Kanna Curry House's branch in Bandar Sri Menjalara in Kepong. Not that the taste would be different but this place is nearer to our home as compared to the one in PJ. Like its PJ branch, the Menjalara branch too occupies 2 shop lots at Wisma Menjalara.
A Cucumber Vege Dish with Indian Chicken Rendang
Food wise - Both branches serve equally good and very delicious Banana Leaf Rice.
Kangkung (I think... hehehe)
Service wise - I think the one at PJ has better and faster service. Here, we had to wait for nearly 10 minutes before one very friendly waiter came to take our order even though the place was quite empty as it was not peak hour. The portion here too is smaller compared to in PJ where they'll just put in everything on your banana leaf until you tell them to stop.

Apart from Nasi Daun Pisang we had curry puff (real tasty!), putu mayam and vadeh - Curry puffa nd vadeh were served hot - delicious!

Tambah lagi Kari... Tambah Lagi kasi Banjirrrr....
I would need a Banana Leaf Rice treat at least once a month, otherwise when the craving comes I could just irritably try to satisfy my cravings with viewing photos of Banana Leaf Rice on the Internet. Unfortunately staying and working in the heart of KL would require an extensive amount of traffic jamming and traveling to go to this favourite and best serving Banana Leaf Rice in the whole of KL and Selangor, Kanna Curry House in Section17, PJ.
The Special Things about Nasi Daun Pisang.
I just love my rice soaked in lots of curry with vegetables forming hills on the banana leaf rice plus a serving of Masala Chicken, lots of Pappadom and the crazy tasting Salted Dried Chili. The taste would be out of this world and believe me, the after-smell of curry on your fingers even long after you've finished your meal is just heavenly!
