Hillside Corner Restaurant with Along
I was at Hillside Corner Restaurant again and this time was there with along and my one and only nephew. Orang belanja, takkan nak tolak kan? Heheheh. No particular occasion just two adik-beradik trying to catch up and update each other with current happenings. Moreover along and I live in the same building (we happen to have bought a unit on the same block, the same floor only different wings) tapi kami jarang berjumpa - almaklumlah masing-masing sibuk memanjang.
As usual, bila dah di Hillside Corner Restaurant I would definitely not miss ordering the garlic bread - too bad, another must, the chicken pie were sold out.
My nephew had Chicken chop - I had a taste and it was nicly prepared. While Along had the Cantonese Kueh Teow (I think that's what it's called).
Kal El bukan malu-malu but it happened that I've had something heavy to eat before I was invited to this late lunch with my lovely sis and nephew so I ordered something light + another serving of garlic bread - ahahah light sangat la tu. I ordered a Chinese dish - Fried something-somthing hehehe can't remember exactly what's it's called but it is shaped like a popia (fried tofu actually - see photo below) dipped in Chili Sauce.

As usual, all our meal at this family eatery has never been disappointing. I only wish they have more of their Chicken Pie because it gets sold out too fast ler... Can or not?

Mother's Day @ Hillside Corner Restaurant
For mother's day this year we initially planned to go for Nasi Padang Puteri Bongsu Batam at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng for lunch but papa had to go back to Johore as his twin sister was really sick with Cancer. So we decided to go somewhere near and since Ka'Ngah wanted to go to the Hillside Corner Restaurant @ Bukit Antarabanga, the five of us decided to go there for lunch.
Mother's Day started early in the morning with a visit to Mummy's grave. I didn't get anything for Ka'ngah since the lunch treat was on me. Sapit bought Ka'ngah three pots of her facourite plants; 2 pots of roses and a pot of Bunga Zaleha. It was supposedly something different this year since if he was going to give her a bouquet of flowers, it will not last long - ahahah good idea indeed.
For my mother in law KN and I gave her a bouquet of flowers and I could only call her in the morning to wish her happy mother's day since KN had a photography class at Sony Style KLCC. KN didn't even join us for lunch.

I had the Grilled Terriyaki Steak prepared medium with baked potato and Cucumber juice for drinks. Along also had the same Grilled Terriyaki steak but prepared well done with fries and Pink Guava juice. Ka'ngah had the grilled chicken chop with Kiwi Juice while Sapit had the Japanese Style Spaghetti with Sarsi float. Arif on the other hand ordered Spaghetti Bolognese with Coke.
We had a good time dining together as we seldom have the chance to get together like this, but too bad papa wasn't able to join us. It would be merrier if both papa and mummy were there to celebrate Mother's Day. I miss you mummy. Miss you very much

Hillside Corner Restaurant @ Bukit Antarabangsa
On 21st March 2008 KN treated me to dinner at Hillside Corner Restaurant Bukit Antarabangsa... very near to our home, opposite Burger King and behind Giant Supermarket. Hillside Restaurant is the only decent restaurant there and we've been patrons since 2003 - I could still remember the first time was with mummy and ka'ngah a couple of months after I moved into the new house.
The restaurant is with very simple deco yet it is very cozy and is a suitable place for family dining. There are interesting paintings on the wall indicating the owners indeed have very exquisite taste, both in decor as well as in food. The restaurant serves both local and western cuisine with some selection of sliced cakes. The specialty here would be their home made chicken pie and very tasty but extremely sweet bread pudding ( a no-no for me lah ye)
That night I had the Nachos as mains with garlic bread and KN had the Hainanese Fried Rice. I also ordered a piece of the delicious home made chicken pie for breakfast the next day - believe me, it was really yummy (unfortunately I've gobbled up the poor pie before realizing I've forgotten to snap a picture of it). I wished the Nachos had more jalapeƱos on it but it tasted all right. The Hainanese Fried Rice was served with a piece of fried chicken. The garlic bread was indeed superb. Overall, for good and affordable food and superbly friendly service I give the place a definite A.

First Week of Ramadhan
The first day of Ramadhan we went to Puteri Bongsu Restaurant - my favourite Nasi Padang Restaurant at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng - we had our usual; rendang daging, bergedel, sambal hijau and chicken plus my favourite Avocado chocolate nad my other half's Durian Belanda for our drinks. Yummy!
We also went to Cozy Corner at Ampang Park twice where I had, what else, my favourite Chicken Chop with gravy and on our second visit we had fried chicken with dried chilli, tom yam, kailan in oyster sauce plus sharks fin soup and banana split. Yummy!
We had not much choice as Ampang Park seems to be the easiest to access at the nearest time for berbuka. I finish work at 4:30 but my love here at 5:30 - so by the time I am chauffeured from the office, it will be somewhere after 6pm. So one of our break fast treat was Pizza Hut where our pizza was accidentally upgraded to a LARGE instead of what we ordered, a REGULAR. Well, we didn't know as it was our first time ordering the diplicious pizza (the one with sausage stuffing and a cheese dip) as the pizza looks regular size but it was put on a large pan because of the sausages - huh rezeki la orang kata... rezeki bulan ramadhan and the waitress didn't say anything until we've eaten half of the pizza. Hehehehe thank you there.
But the best buka puasa treat in the first week of Ramadhan was at Hill Side Restaurant in Bukit Antarabangsa - it was a buffet for RM29+ per person where they server BBQ on Mondays - it is RM25 net for other days where they serve different menu everyday. Considering it is a small family restaurant and a not so big serving of food lineup, we enjoyed our meal there as much as the warm staff of the restaurant. We'll definitely come back to try the rest of the buffet.
